The wedding celebration of global pop superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden is estimated to have cost $30 million or more, with a significant portion allocated to florals and decor, according to Esther Lee, editorial director at The Knot Worldwide.
Lee detailed the extensive logistics and expenses involved in transforming the iconic New York arena into a venue for over 1,000 guests. While the average American wedding costs approximately $34,000, this event operated on an entirely different scale. Securing Madison Square Garden, including the necessary setup and teardown time, along with the infrastructure required for the transformation, is estimated to have cost between $5 million and $10 million.
The decor and floral arrangements alone are estimated to have cost at least $5 million. This included custom draping and carpet installations to alter the space's appearance.
Catering, service, and guest logistics for the approximately 1,100 attendees were estimated to cost between $2.5 million and $3 million. Bridal attire, menswear, and entertainment likely added another $2 million to the total expense. The wedding also featured personalized guest gifts, such as candle sets and custom "T&T" branding, contributing to the overall cost.
Lee estimated the total cost to be in the range of $20 million to over $30 million, noting the event's significant economic impact on the local New York economy and the broader wedding industry.
Planning an event of this magnitude would have required months of coordination and multiple high-level consultations. Lee indicated that the couple likely had four to six major planning sessions, including tastings and the approval of custom designs, as well as fittings. Prioritizing privacy and secure logistics, such as street closures and private vehicle access, was a primary concern in the initial stages of planning, leading to the choice of Madison Square Garden.
Once the venue, date, and security plans were finalized, designers focused on spatial design to make the large arena feel intimate. The event was attended by a mix of family members, friends, teammates, and celebrities, including Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Dakota Johnson, Machine Gun Kelly, Kelsea Ballerini, and sports reporter Erin Andrews.
The venue's exterior was lit up with digital screens reading "JUST&T MARRIED!" Swift wore a Christian Dior haute couture gown, and Adam Sandler officiated the ceremony. Austin Swift served as his sister’s man of honor, and Jason Kelce was his brother's best man. The couple, who are both 36, announced their engagement in August 2025.
