The early stages of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship nearly ended before they went public, according to sources speaking to the Daily Mail. Insiders suggest that while Swift was "instantly serious" about the NFL star, Kelce initially held a "no-strings-attached" approach.
Kelce, 36, publicly expressed his interest in meeting Swift, 34, in the summer of 2023 during her Eras Tour stop in Kansas City. He detailed a plan to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number, but was unable to execute it as Swift does not speak before or after her shows. Swift recalled the moment in August, likening it to a scene from a John Hughes movie.
However, sources indicate that Kelce was dating other people during their initial summer of interactions and was not looking for a serious commitment. "He was definitely still dating around [in the beginning]," one insider confirmed.
Despite Kelce's initial reservations, the pair did not become exclusive until September 2023. This was after Swift made her public debut at Arrowhead Stadium alongside Kelce's mother, Donna. Prior to this appearance, their interactions were casual and private, with no accusations of infidelity.
