Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise engaged in a conversation at Arrowhead Stadium during Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce's Week 1 game, the topic of which has been revealed by a lip-reading expert. Nicola Hickling, founder of LipReader, analyzed the exchange between the pop singer and the veteran actor for The Daily Mail.
Swift was quoted as saying, "It's the structure of the entire infrastructure of the audience that's what I love in a positive way." According to Hickling, Cruise responded, "You may not know it, but you do have a job." Swift appeared to agree, nodding and stating, "right." Cruise then added, "I told her to stick to one and that it's the last time," to which Swift again signaled approval.
The two celebrities were seated together in a VIP suite during the Chiefs' game against the Denver Broncos. Swift was also accompanied by her father, Scott, and Kelce's mother, Donna. Swift was later seen celebrating Kelce's achievement of surpassing Jason Witten for career receiving yards among tight ends.
Swift's attendance at the game came as her concert film, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour - The Final Show," was nominated for multiple Emmy awards. The singer did not attend the Creative Arts Emmys ceremony earlier in the month. Her presence at the Chiefs' season opener marked her support for Kelce's 14th NFL season.
Cruise has prior cinematic connections to football, having starred as a football player in the 1983 film "All the Right Moves" and portraying sports agent Jerry Maguire in the 1996 film of the same name, a character inspired by agent Leigh Steinberg.
