Taylor Lewan, co-host of the podcast "Bussin' With the Boys," has voiced his surprise and disappointment at not being invited to the wedding of NFL star Travis Kelce and singer Taylor Swift. The event, which reportedly had over 1,000 guests, took place over the Fourth of July weekend.
Lewan, a former offensive lineman for the Tennessee Titans, discussed the situation on a recent episode of his podcast. Initially, he stated he was unconcerned about not receiving an invitation, attributing it to the large number of attendees. However, his perspective shifted as he saw the guest list, which included individuals he did not recognize, such as soccer player Alex Morgan and comedian Bowen Yang.
This realization prompted Lewan to record a voice message for Kelce, questioning the decision-making process behind the guest list. While he did not send the message, Lewan shared its contents on the podcast. "I am so happy for you … could not be more excited for you and your beautiful wife," Lewan said in the message. "I just want to know what was the thought process for inviting people because I’m seeing a lot of individuals here and am wondering how it all happened breaking it all down. Hope you’re good."
Lewan clarified that he did not intend to diminish the celebration or the attendees and admitted he might not have attended even if invited. His questioning intensified upon learning that figures like Fox Sports analyst Dean Blandino were present. "Is this a personal shot that Will and I are taking?" Lewan asked, referring to his podcast co-host Will Compton, who had also expressed bewilderment over the guest list.
Lewan emphasized his long-standing friendship with Kelce, noting they have communicated via text and phone for over a decade. "Yo, we’re boys; I’ve known you for over 10 years," Lewan stated. "We text and call each other. I’m gonna take the high road but I’m just thinking, dude, I’m clearly doing something wrong in our friendship, clearly something wrong. … There’s clearly a blind spot I’m not seeing."
Compton had previously voiced similar sentiments on the podcast "Wake Up Barstool," describing himself as "kinda flabbergasted" by the wedding invitations. Both Lewan and Compton have been photographed with Kelce and Swift since their relationship began in 2023, and their podcast's social media also offered congratulations following the wedding announcement.
