Taylor Frankie Paul, a figure from "The Bachelorette" franchise, announced on social media that she is currently celibate. This declaration comes after her season of the show was shelved and following allegations of cheating on her fiancé with an ex-boyfriend.
Paul, 32, shared her commitment to remaining single and abstaining from intimate relationships until she finds a life partner. "I've stayed in, single and celibate this entire time and nobody will have intimate access to me again unless he's my person and that's a promise to myself," she stated on Instagram.
Her season of "The Bachelorette," which saw her choose participant Doug Mason and become engaged to him, was reportedly pulled by ABC shortly before its scheduled premiere in March. This decision followed the resurfacing of a 2023 video depicting Paul allegedly attacking her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares a son. In the video, metal chairs were reportedly thrown, and one unintentionally struck her child. Paul has also accused Mortensen of domestic violence.
Despite the controversies, Paul expressed a desire for a "redemption arc" and hinted at the possibility of a "Bachelorette round two." She also shared images from a magazine photoshoot that was also affected by the public scrutiny.
In legal proceedings concerning her son Ever, with whom she shares Mortensen, a judge granted Paul custody on specific weekdays and alternating weekends, while Mortensen retained custodial parent status on holidays. The former couple has been instructed by the court to refrain from making disparaging remarks about each other in public and on social media.
