Singer Tate McRae and New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes have ended their relationship, Page Six confirmed. Sources close to McRae stated she ended the relationship, while sources close to Hughes claimed he broke it off, citing "red flags" before the romance became public.

The couple began dating in late 2023, with rumors intensifying after they were seen together in New York City multiple times. McRae was seen supporting Hughes at his hockey games, and the pair were observed at dinner in the West Village.

The split follows a controversy surrounding McRae after Hughes and his teammates laughed at a joke made by former President Donald Trump during a call congratulating them on an Olympic win. In an interview with Variety, McRae addressed the situation, stating, "I like to say my piece through organizations I support and the environment that I have on tour." She added, "I think it’s pretty obvious what kind of person I am and the things I support. And I hope that my fans can see that through the things that I’m putting my energy towards."

McRae has previously supported LGBTQ+ youth organizations like The Trevor Project and female empowerment groups such as the Global Fund for Women. She was honored with the Triple Threat Award at Variety's Power of Young Hollywood event this week.
