Social media personalities Andrew and Tristan Tate appeared in federal court in Miami on Monday as British authorities seek to extradite them to face a total of 59 charges. The charges, announced by the Crown Prosecution Service, include rape, sex trafficking, and offenses related to indecent images of a child.

Andrew Tate, 39, faces seven additional rape counts, along with charges of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offenses involving indecent images of a child. Tristan Tate, 38, faces charges including two rape counts and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation. British police stated that the alleged offenses occurred between July 2010 and August 2017.

Joseph McBride, the lead counsel for the brothers, told reporters that they maintain their innocence and he did not expect them to be released. "There will be a series of hearings" as part of the extradition process, McBride stated.

The brothers, who hold dual U.S. and British citizenship, were arrested in Miami over the weekend. British authorities announced 38 additional charges involving four more alleged victims prior to the arrest.

In addition to the extradition request, the Tate brothers are also facing separate criminal proceedings in Romania, where they have been under investigation since December 2022.

Andrew Tate is also scheduled to face a civil trial in Britain initiated by four women who allege he subjected them to physical and sexual abuse between 2013 and 2015. Two of the claimants allege they were in intimate relationships with Tate, while the other two worked for his online webcam business. Tate denies these allegations, with his lawyers stating the claims are false and that all sexual activity was consensual.
