Tarik Skubal's Beer-Chugging Celebration Steals the Show in Dodgers' NLDS Victory
Pitcher Tarik Skubal became an internet sensation after chugging two beers during postgame interviews following the Los Angeles Dodgers' NLDS-clinching win.
Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tarik Skubal, who did not pitch in the team's NLDS-clinching Game 4 victory against the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night, became a focal point of the postgame celebration. Skubal garnered significant attention for his energetic, beer-soaked interviews.
During an interview with Dodgers reporter Kirsten Watson, Skubal was asked about the impending celebration. He responded with enthusiasm, stating, "I can’t f****** wait," before proceeding to chug two beers he was holding. Much of the liquid missed his mouth, drenching his chest.
The festivities continued with a subsequent interview with SportsNet LA reporter David Vassegh. As beer was being poured and thrown around the vicinity, Skubal told Vassegh, "I’ve got another beer in a place where it shouldn’t be." The interview was briefly interrupted by the chaotic celebration.
As Vassegh attempted to regain composure, Skubal remarked, "The game is speeding up on you, it is speeding up on you." Another beer was then poured down Skubal's back. "What’s running down my pants right now is so cold," he said. "It’s because these f****** guys!" he added, gesturing towards his teammates before continuing the celebratory dousing.
Later, when asked about his significance to the Dodgers, Skubal expressed his appreciation for the team's environment. "It’s a great team. The culture they have here, the preparation, the expectation to win, I love being a part of it," he stated.
Following the exhilarating NLDS win, the Dodgers are now advancing, with fans eager to see how Skubal might celebrate a potential World Series championship.
