Target is recalling more than 200,000 children’s sandals due to a potential choking hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday. The recall affects approximately 211,000 pairs of Cat & Jack Toddler Girls’ Sequerah Sandals.
The risk stems from the possibility that decorative pearls on the sandals could detach. "The sandals' decorative pearls can fall off, posing a risk of serious injury or death from a choking hazard," the CPSC stated.
The recalled sandals are tan and feature raffia straps with gold buckles and plastic pearls. The brand name is printed on the soles and bottoms of the shoes. They were sold in toddler sizes 5T through 12T.
These sandals were available for purchase at Target stores nationwide and online at Target.com from January 2026 through May 2026. The retail price was approximately $20.
Target has received 23 reports of pearls detaching from the shoes. No injuries have been reported in connection with this recall. Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled sandals immediately, keep them away from children, and contact Target for a full refund.
