Actress Tara Reid, 50, was observed smoking a cigarette while taking a break from signing autographs at The Hollywood Show convention in Burbank, Los Angeles, on Saturday. Reid, known for her roles in "American Pie," "The Big Lebowski," and the "Sharknado" film series, had a booth at the event where she interacted with fans and signed memorabilia.
This appearance comes nearly a year after Reid publicly alleged she was drugged by a stranger after consuming a single drink at a hotel in Rosemont, Illinois, in November 2023. The incident, which led to her being hospitalized, garnered significant media attention. A subsequent police investigation by the Rosemont Police Department concluded with authorities stating they found insufficient evidence to support the claim that her drink had been spiked. Police noted that while they did not dismiss her claims as false, they lacked the evidence to proceed with the investigation, leaving the case closed unless new evidence emerges.
Following the police statement, Reid expressed feeling "judged and bullied" by the media and public scrutiny, emphasizing her lack of memory of events after her first drink. She conveyed to Us Weekly that she felt something was wrong and suspected she had been drugged, stating, "No one ends up in the hospital for around eleven hours from drinking wine alone." She described the public reaction as painful and detrimental to her mental health and healing process.
Reid's career includes notable roles in "Cruel Intentions," "Josie and the Pussycats," and "Van Wilder," as well as the television series "Scrubs." She is also slated to appear in the upcoming vertical drama series "Murder Mystery Party."
