Tank Dell Set for Houston Texans Return Against New York Giants

Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell is slated to return to the active roster for the team's upcoming game against the New York Giants. This marks Dell's first NFL appearance in nearly two years, following a severe knee injury he sustained in Week 16 of the 2024 season.

Dell received clearance for football activities during training camp in July. The injury prematurely ended his 2024 season, and he also faced challenges during his rookie year when a broken fibula limited his playing time. In his 25 career games, Dell has accumulated 98 receptions for 1,376 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns.

The Texans' receiving corps has seen significant additions, including first-round draft pick Marvin Harrison Jr. This bolstered group also features Pro Bowl receiver Nico Collins, who is healthy, and the developing talent of second-year player Jaylin Noel. Dell's return adds another weapon to quarterback C.J. Stroud's arsenal. Stroud has been a key performer this season, throwing for 1,714 yards with nine touchdowns and one interception.

Dell expressed his anticipation for his comeback, stating, "I don’t care if the first catch is 2 yards, 5 yards — I’m spiking the ball and doing what I gotta do. It’s gonna feel good. … I’m ready to get tackled. I’m gonna be joyful." He is expected to have a limited role as he eases back into play.
