Tana Ramsay, wife of chef Gordon Ramsay, has shared insights into her skincare routine, emphasizing the importance of sun protection and a budget-friendly gradual tanning lotion. Despite her husband's culinary fame, Ramsay maintains her own public profile as an author and fitness enthusiast, recently drawing attention for her youthful appearance on her 52nd birthday.
Ramsay revealed that she has adopted a more vigilant approach to sun exposure after being diagnosed with melasma, a skin condition characterized by dark or patchy spots. She noted a personal anecdote where a pharmacist inquired about the marks on her face, prompting her to re-evaluate her habits. Previously, she and her husband would actively sunbathe, a practice she has since curtailed.
To maintain a healthy glow, Ramsay relies on gradual tan creams. She specifically mentioned Dove's Visible Glow Lotion, available for approximately £4.25, as a favorite. "Especially as you get older, the skin on your legs isn't quite what it used to be, and this just adds a subtle, flattering tint," she told The Times.
Beyond tanning products, Ramsay also uses Klira's The Dayscript cream daily. Dr. Hasaneen Al Janabi of Dr Hass Clinic in Harley Street underscored the significance of daily broad-spectrum SPF application, stating that prevention of sun damage, including pigmentation and premature aging, is far more manageable than reversing its effects. Ramsay's consistent use of SPF is likely a key factor in her skin's current condition.
Other favored products include Elm Biosciences A3O Elemental Night Cream and Sarah Chapman Sheet Masks, which were introduced to her by her daughter Tilly. In terms of makeup, Ramsay uses Victoria Beckham's foundation drops and has also used products from Charlotte Tilbury.
For haircare, Ramsay uses the K18 Leave-In Molecular Repair Hair Mask, a product recommended by her hairdresser for treating damaged hair, and also favors the Shu Uemura Shampoo & Conditioner from its Ultimate Reset range.
