Tammy Hembrow Sparks Debate Over Wedding Comment to Ex-Fiancé

Tammy Hembrow ignited a debate on social media after posting a congratulatory comment on her ex-fiancé Matt Poole's wedding to Annelyse Oatway. Hembrow, who shares a daughter, Posy, with Poole, wrote "Congrats fam!!" on a post celebrating the newlyweds' marriage, which took place at Sydney's Palm Beach.

The comment quickly drew criticism from one Instagram user who described Hembrow's use of the word 'fam' as "performative" and stated, "Not your family."

However, the criticism was met with pushback from other commenters who defended Hembrow, citing her co-parenting relationship with Poole. "Family because of Posy," one user wrote in support. Another commenter questioned the negativity, asking, "Why would you not support a close loving relationship between both families?"

Poole and Oatway were married in a ceremony attended by family and friends. Oatway wore a wedding gown with a corset-style bodice and a sheer lace skirt, while Poole opted for a cream dinner jacket. Their son, Parker, and Hembrow's daughter, Posy, were also present.

Annelyse Oatway has since changed her surname to Poole on her social media. Previously, Oatway had spoken about maintaining communication with Hembrow for the sake of their daughter. "Tammy and I talk about Po. If we have Posy and she wants to talk to her mum, we FaceTime," Oatway said last year, adding that their interactions were "strictly Posy-related."

Matt Poole and Tammy Hembrow became engaged in November 2021 and welcomed Posy in June 2022, separating later that year. Poole announced his engagement to Annelyse Oatway in November and they welcomed their son, Parker, last year. Hembrow also shares two children, Wolf and Saskia, with her former fiancé Reece Hawkins.
