System Outages Disrupt Delta and United Flights Across US

Delta and United Airlines experienced significant system outages on Tuesday, leading to flight disruptions and passenger delays across the United States. The technical issues, which began around 11:40 a.m. ET, affected flight operations and customer access to airline platforms.

Reports from outage-tracking website Downdetector indicated that a substantial number of Delta customers faced problems with the airline's app, impacting booking, check-in, and flight management. Similarly, nearly 60 percent of United customers reported an inability to log into the airline's customer portal.

Independent reports shared on social media detailed the on-the-ground impact, with one journalist noting that Delta flights in Detroit were unable to board passengers due to a complete system failure. Similar issues were reported by travelers in Atlanta and Tampa.

United Airlines acknowledged the disruption in a statement on its website, stating, "We're working to fix a temporary technical issue affecting united.com and the United app. You can't sign in to your MileagePlus account at this time. Please try again later."

The ongoing outage has created a cascading travel nightmare, with passengers unable to access accounts or confirm flight details. Further updates are expected as the airlines work to resolve the technical problems.
