Sydney Sweeney to Star in Sony's 'Sleepy Hollow' Adaptation
Actress Sydney Sweeney has been cast in Sony's upcoming 'Sleepy Hollow' film, a reimagining of the classic tale based on filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer's debut novel.
Sydney Sweeney is slated to star in Sony's forthcoming adaptation of "Sleepy Hollow," with "Off Campus" actor Belmont Cameli also attached to the project. The film is envisioned as a supernatural mystery centered on a love triangle involving Sweeney's character, Katrina Van Tassel, and Cameli's character, Brom Bones. Another actor is still being sought to play Ichabod Crane.
Filmmaker Lindsey Anderson Beer is directing and adapting her own novel, which is set to be published in the fall of 2027. Beer's novel aims to reframe the traditional narrative by placing Katrina Van Tassel at the center of the mystery and the supernatural love triangle.
Sweeney's recent public appearances have been accompanied by notable controversies. Most recently, she faced criticism for her participation in a nude sports betting advertisement, which some female athletes argued set women's sports back. Her "Euphoria" co-star Sharon Stone also commented on the ad.
The "Sleepy Hollow" adaptation is being produced by Margot Robbie's LuckyChap production company, along with Sweeney's Honey Trap banner and Beer's Lab Brew banner.
Reports also indicate that Sweeney's relationship with media mogul Scooter Braun is intensifying. The couple, who have a 16-year age difference, have reportedly been together for a year and are described as being very serious. Sweeney has been seen spending time with Braun's children, whom he shares with his ex-wife Yael Cohen.
