Two prominent Sydney socialites, Victoria Montano and Nicole O'Neil, have been criticized for a series of social media posts that some followers deemed "out of touch" and "classless" due to their overt displays of wealth.

Montano, 43, a star of "Real Housewives of Sydney," recently posted a selfie from London lamenting her inability to wear her approximately $20,000 worth of jewelry and accessories while traveling. She expressed frustration over not being able to wear her Hermes items in London or Milan.

Simultaneously, O'Neil, 46, another "Real Housewives of Sydney" cast member, shared a video advocating for investment in a Birkin handbag, which can cost upwards of $20,000. O'Neil defended the purchase, stating that her first Birkin, bought at age 20, is still in use and offers good value per wear.

These posts prompted a strong reaction from some social media users. Critics accused the women of being "classless" and disconnected from reality. One commenter offered a detailed breakdown suggesting that even with good resale value, a Birkin handbag is significantly more expensive per wear than a high-quality non-branded alternative.

This is not the first time cast members from "Real Housewives of Sydney" have faced scrutiny for displays of wealth. Previously, Montano, Krissy Marsh, Victoria Rees, and Matty Samaei were criticized for flaunting expensive designer outfits in a social media clip. Montano, in particular, drew ire for showcasing a Dior outfit and an Hermes bag, referencing "Montano money."

Montano is the founder of the fashion brand Sports Luxe, and her husband, Tim Odillo Maher, is the Executive Director of Fox Symes Debt Solutions. The couple resides in a multi-million dollar home in Sydney's eastern suburbs and Montano's social media often features photos of lavish vacations and designer clothing. The cast of "Real Housewives of Sydney" as a whole has developed a reputation for their opulent lifestyles, including elaborate birthday celebrations and exclusive events.
