Olympic champion Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and her husband, former NFL player Andre Levrone, have welcomed their first child, a daughter named Savannah Michelle. The couple announced the news on Sunday, sharing black-and-white photos of their newborn on Instagram.
McLaughlin-Levrone, a four-time Olympic gold medalist and world record holder in the 400m hurdles, captioned the post, "Our blessing and our joy is finally here! So grateful for everyone who supported us through the pregnancy journey. Looking forward to seeing what God has in store for our little girl!!" The images showed the couple holding their daughter’s hand and snuggling with her.
The pair first announced McLaughlin-Levrone's pregnancy in January with a beach photoshoot shared on Instagram. They had previously revealed they met through a mutual friend and began dating after Andre Levrone reached out via social media. The couple married in 2022.
McLaughlin-Levrone has won the 400m hurdles and the 4x400m relay at both the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. She also holds the world record for the 400m hurdles and the American record for the 400m.
Andre Levrone played in the NFL for two seasons as a wide receiver, signing with the Baltimore Ravens in 2018 and later joining the Carolina Panthers. He announced his retirement from professional football in September 2020. Fellow athletes, including Coco Gauff and Allyson Felix, were among those who liked the couple's announcement post.
