Australia's social elite gathered in the English countryside for the highly anticipated three-day wedding of entrepreneur Alyce Tran and British music executive Rob Simpkins at the exclusive Estelle Manor in Oxfordshire.
The guest list included prominent figures such as Aussie Home Loans heiress Deborah Symond O'Neil, Bondi Pilates queen Bernadette Sukkar and her husband Jordan Sukkar, PR guru Montarna McDonald, the bride's sister Caro Tran, and socialites Kristina McCourt, Barbara Coombes, and Kate Bond. Skincare entrepreneur Michael Porter and his husband, Giorgio Armani publicist Billy Mitchell, were also in attendance.
However, several well-known social figures were notably absent from the festivities. Among them were Double Bay eyebrow queen Kristin Fisher, interior designer Poppy Tzaneros, and 'nude artist' Dina Broadhurst. The absence of Tzaneros, in particular, raised eyebrows due to her close friendship with the bride. Broadhurst is reportedly on a summer escape in Rome with her son and his girlfriend.
Kristin Fisher's absence may be understood given recent personal and professional challenges. Her salon entered voluntary administration in late 2023 with significant debts, and she reached a settlement with the Australian Taxation Office in January 2024 to clear nearly $1 million in unpaid taxes. Furthermore, NSW Police are investigating a complaint regarding allegations of threatening phone calls made to fellow beauty business owner Sharon Lee Hamilton-Clarke. Fisher's relationship with Shannon Sykes is also reportedly experiencing difficulties.
Socialite Lou O'Neil was also absent, though her absence is less surprising as she recently welcomed her second child.
The wedding itself was a glamorous affair, held at Estelle Manor, a 3,000-acre estate in the Cotswolds known for hosting events for the wealthy and famous. The estate has previously hosted the wedding of Apple heiress Eve Jobs and Olympic equestrian Harry Charles, and has been visited by celebrities like Lewis Hamilton and Kim Kardashian.
The celebrations spanned three days and included access to the estate's Roman-inspired Eynsham Baths spa. The table settings at the reception featured bespoke pieces from Tran's own brand, In The Roundhouse, showcasing her signature aesthetic. Tran, co-founder of The Daily Edited and founder of In The Roundhouse, met Simpkins, Chief Marketing Officer for Roc Nation's sports division, on the dating app Raya in May 2024. Simpkins proposed seven months later in December 2024.
Tran wore a lace Chanel two-piece for the ceremony, while Simpkins opted for a Dior suit. The event highlighted the intersection of Australian and British high society, with guest lists and notable absences fueling social chatter.
