Swiss Police Confront British YouTuber Over Reckless Driving in Alps

Swiss police have confronted a British YouTuber, known online as 'Jay P', for what they described as "driving like a maniac" through the Swiss Alps. The incident, which occurred around the Susten Pass on October 15, involved a group of approximately 20 supercars, including a McLaren 720S and an Audi R8 V10.

Jay P, who has 133,000 Instagram followers and 15,000 YouTube subscribers, shared a now-deleted video of the encounter. A clip posted to his Instagram showed a police officer shouting at one of Jay P's companions, "This is Switzerland, not f***ing Britain!" The officer reprimanded the individual for reckless driving.

Footage from the video also captured other dangerous driving behavior, including an open-top car narrowly avoiding a collision with a white van and another sports car performing doughnuts on a Swiss road. A man in the video was heard urging a driver to overtake vehicles, exclaiming, "Take them all, all the way to the hairpin, you're clear!"

Following the interaction with the police, Jay P reportedly stated in the video that the officers treated his group like "children" and suggested that "The Swiss police don't have a sense of humour."

The officers involved were reportedly part of the Uri cantonal police. A spokesperson for the force told Swiss newspaper Blick that the officers were not aware they were being filmed, although they suspected recording was taking place. The police are reviewing the footage to determine if any criminal offenses related to road traffic law occurred and what further actions might be necessary.

Another Swiss media group, 20 Minuten, reported that while no traffic violations were found during the initial stop, the Uri police had notified neighboring cantonal police forces about the incident. The Daily Mail has reached out to Jay P for comment.
