A champion swimmer from Concordia University Irvine has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, and indecent exposure in connection with the death of a security guard in Hawaii. Legend Storer, 20, of Lahaina, appeared in court on Friday and was ordered held without bail.

Michael Dyer, 63, a security guard at Sands of Kahana, was found deceased in his office around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday. Police stated that surveillance footage showed a nude Storer entering Dyer's office around 1:45 a.m. and assaulting him before fleeing on foot. The motive for the alleged attack remains unknown.

Hours before Dyer was found, Storer had been taken to Maui Memorial Medical Center. Later on Thursday, around 3 a.m., police received multiple calls reporting a naked 20-year-old man wandering the streets. Storer was located 30 minutes later, reportedly still unclothed and with numerous abrasions. He received medical treatment before being transported to Wailuku Police Station.

Dyer is described by his family as a devoted family man, married for 26 years. A GoFundMe has been established to help cover funeral expenses and provide support for his wife, Joy, including funds for therapy and living costs as she processes the event.
