Suspected Drunk Driver Injures Four, Including Child, at Brooklyn Halloween Event

A suspected drunk driver struck four people, including a child, during a Halloween event outside the 83rd Precinct in Brooklyn on October 29, 2026. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. when a 56-year-old driver lost control of his black sedan and mounted the curb, hitting attendees of the "Trunk or Treat" event.

The vehicle also struck a private ambulance that was stationed outside for the event. Three adults and one child were transported to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center and were reported to be in stable condition, according to police. Several other individuals received medical attention at the scene from EMS personnel.

Emergency personnel work at the scene of a multiple-vehicle crash with injured people near a white car.

The driver was taken into police custody and was undergoing an alcohol breathalyzer test. Sources indicated that there was no evidence to suggest the driver intentionally targeted the event or its attendees, and the incident is not considered terror-related.
