A suspected drunk driver crashed a truck through a busy California restaurant on October 25, an incident captured on video.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. at Chicken Thyme and Kabob Craze in Concord when the truck smashed through the establishment's front glass windows.

Video footage shows patrons seated at tables moments before the vehicle impacted the building, sending debris flying.

“The car jumped up and down, and then it hit the curb and this curb, and just flew in my store,” Fraidoon Jamshed, the owner of the restaurants, told KRON4 News. “I had seven, eight people sitting there, and I was behind the counter. And thank God that it’s miraculous nobody got hurt. It was a miracle.”

Jamshed estimated the driver was traveling at 70 to 80 miles per hour and did not appear to brake. He added that employees had to remove the driver's foot from the gas pedal.

The crash damaged a supporting concrete pillar, leading to the closure of indoor dining for both Chicken Time and Kabob Craze and the adjacent Little Thai House. The businesses share the affected seating area, which is supported by the damaged pillar.

Fortunately, all three restaurants utilize separate kitchen facilities within the complex, allowing them to continue operating through takeout and delivery services. The duration of the repairs and the reopening date for the indoor dining rooms remain undetermined.
