Authorities are investigating the deaths of five people and several domesticated animals found on a rural property near Forest Grove, Oregon, as a quintuple homicide. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Benjamin Charles Parker, was later found dead from an apparent suicide in a vehicle in Enumclaw, Washington.

The grim discovery was made by firefighters responding to a vehicle fire on the property just before 5:30 a.m. on Saturday. They immediately alerted law enforcement. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office announced Sunday that the case is being treated as a homicide and that investigators do not believe the killings were random.

Parker was found dead in a car approximately 50 miles southwest of Seattle. Authorities stated that he died by apparent suicide. The identities of the five victims have not yet been released, and it remains unclear if they were related.

Sheriff Caprice Massey noted that Parker knew the victims, but declined to provide details on the nature of their relationship or a potential motive. Information regarding the manner of the victims' deaths and the connection of the vehicle fire and deceased animals to the investigation has not been revealed.

Records indicate that Parker had previously lived at the property where the bodies were found, though his current residency status is uncertain. Sheriff Massey described the scene as one of the most complex investigations she has encountered in her 22-year career, acknowledging the community's concern and assuring that all available resources are dedicated to determining what occurred.
