Suspect Dives Through Window to Evade Arrest, Leaves ID Behind

An Oklahoma man's attempt to evade law enforcement ended with a dramatic dive through a closed window, but the escape was short-lived after deputies discovered his driver's license at the scene. The incident occurred on October 1, when deputies from the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported burglary at a vacant residence.

Upon arrival, a deputy encountered Rayven Lee Wooten, 24, of Nicoma Park, inside the home. Authorities stated Wooten was allegedly stealing copper wire from a dishwasher. Bodycam footage released by the sheriff's office shows the deputy confronting Wooten and instructing him to remove his hands from his pockets and get on his knees.

Instead of complying, Wooten ran through the kitchen and leaped headfirst through a closed living room window. "He just bailed out the window. He’s on foot," the deputy reported over the radio, as captured in the video.

Wooten managed to escape on foot initially. However, investigators reported that he left his backpack behind, which contained his driver's license. This crucial piece of evidence allowed deputies to identify and track him down.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office shared the bodycam footage, noting the suspect's unusual escape tactic. "A suspect took the phrase ‘Make a break for it’ a little too literally!" the agency commented on the video, adding that the man "missed his calling as a Hollywood stuntman."

Wooten is now facing charges including burglary, resisting arrest, and obstructing an officer.
