Suspect Arrested Over Two Years After Polyamorous Partner's Murder

Julian Morris, 32, has been arrested and charged with the murder of his boyfriend, Deundray Cottrell, who disappeared from a family gathering in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 4, 2024. Cottrell's body was discovered two days later, having been strangled with electrical wire.

Morris, along with Cottrell and another partner, DeEric Williams, had formed a polyamorous relationship and operated a performance and event hosting trio known as SkiiBoyz Entertainment in Atlanta. The group had gained some notoriety, participating in photoshoots and headlining events.

Suspicion fell on Morris shortly after Cottrell's disappearance. Cottrell's family reported that Morris had been acting strangely during the frantic search for his missing boyfriend. Morris reportedly refused to speak with detectives and ceased contact with both Williams and Cottrell's family following the murder investigation, continuing his career independently.

US Marshals apprehended Morris in Miami earlier this week as he was preparing to board a cruise ship. He is currently being held in jail, facing charges related to Cottrell's murder. The investigation into the events surrounding Cottrell's death is ongoing.
