Susie Ma to Return to Dragons' Den for 2027 Series

Skincare entrepreneur Susie Ma will return to the BBC's Dragons' Den for the 2027 series, following a positive debut on the show earlier this year. Ma, who founded Tropic Skincare at the age of 15 and has led the company for over two decades, will be a regular presence in the Den.

She is set to join fellow Dragons Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, and Steven Bartlett in backing new business ventures. Ma expressed her excitement about discovering and supporting founders who approach business with innovation and a strong sense of purpose.

"For me, it's about balancing the head and the heart: the numbers and the opportunity have to stack up, but I'm also looking for founders with a clear sense of purpose and the ambition to create something that has an impact beyond the bottom line," Ma stated. She added that she understands the significance of belief in a founder's vision and is eager to offer that encouragement to the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Tropic Skincare began with 50 jars of homemade body scrub sold at Greenwich Market and has since grown into a national brand with a valuation of £68 million. Ma emphasized that business can be a powerful force for good, a principle she has applied throughout her 20 years leading Tropic.

Ma's initial appearance on the show as a guest judge in season 23 received a mixed reception from viewers, with some fans noting a perceived decline in pitch quality and a lack of variety in the products presented. The return of the show in August after a summer hiatus also saw commentary about the absence of long-standing Dragons Sara Davies and Touker Suleyman, who confirmed his departure after a decade on the program. Suleyman cited a belief in the need for "new blood" and a desire to focus on mentoring entrepreneurs he has already invested in. Mazei will appear in every episode of the new series, joining Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett to back the next generation of entrepreneurs.
