Susanna Reid, the 55-year-old host of "Good Morning Britain," has shared insights into her fitness approach, which prioritizes consistency and sustainability over strenuous, time-consuming workouts. Reid, who has been teetotal for eight years, revealed that her toned physique is a result of a "low-maintenance regime" that aligns with her demanding early morning schedule.
Reid's current fitness routine includes walking approximately two miles daily and completing a 10-minute YouTube workout each morning before her shower. This approach is a departure from her earlier days, when she participated in marathons and frequent gym sessions. "I don’t have the energy" for those more intense workouts anymore, she admitted.
Her dietary habits remain largely consistent with a pescatarian plan, which she has followed since 2017. This means she consumes fish but avoids other meat products. Reid previously adopted a vegetarian diet before the birth of her first child. She typically starts her day with black coffee and apples with peanut butter, followed by a second breakfast of rye toast, poached eggs, and avocado after her broadcast.
Reid has openly discussed her past weight management journey, noting that in 2018, her general practitioner advised her to lose weight as she was at the upper end of the healthy Body Mass Index (BMI) range. By March of the following year, she had lost approximately 21 pounds, attributing this to abstaining from alcohol and reducing snacking.
She also acknowledged experiencing weight gain during the COVID-19 lockdowns, finding it challenging to maintain her fitness levels with gym closures. However, by November 2022, she had successfully shed the additional weight.
Beyond exercise and diet, Reid emphasizes the importance of sleep, aiming for at least seven hours per night, and incorporates a daily nap between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. She utilizes an Oura fitness tracker to monitor her sleep goals.
Recently, Reid was seen enjoying a day at a beach club in Ibiza, opting for a relaxed ensemble of denim shorts and a black swimsuit. During her holiday, she also participated in a segment for "Good Morning Britain," encouraging viewers to vote for the show in a National Television Award, humorously dubbing herself "Raver Reid."
