Soap opera icon Susan Lucci, 79, recently made a notable appearance at the U.S. Open in New York, drawing attention for her enduring youthful appearance. The actress, known for her role as Erica Kane on "All My Children," displayed a svelte figure in a white mini-dress and was noted for her remarkably wrinkle-free visage.
Lucci has openly discussed her approach to maintaining her appearance, acknowledging the role of regular Botox treatments administered by her dermatologist. She has described her dermatologist's technique as one that achieves natural-looking results without completely immobilizing facial expressions.
Beyond cosmetic procedures, Lucci adheres to a strict diet, reportedly rarely consuming dessert and avoiding snacks, bread, and pasta. Her fitness regimen includes decades of Pilates, supplemented by workouts with a personal trainer. She has incorporated weights for upper body strength and toning, often performing these exercises while standing on a BOSU ball to enhance balance, a practice she emphasizes as important for maintaining stability as one ages.
In addition to discussions about her appearance, Lucci has also spoken about the profound grief she experienced following the death of her husband of 52 years, Helmut Huber, in 2022. She described feeling "completely lost and so alone" after his passing, which occurred shortly after he suffered a stroke. Lucci noted that certain moments, particularly holidays, continue to serve as painful reminders of his absence.
Lucci and Huber met while working at a hotel and married in September 1969. Huber was also instrumental in Lucci's career, serving as her manager and CEO of their production company, Pine Valley Productions. Lucci's iconic role as Erica Kane spanned from 1970 until the show's conclusion in 2011. She also appeared in "Dallas," "Hot in Cleveland," and "Devious Maids."
