Susan Clark, Star of "Webster" and "Coogan's Bluff," Spotted in Rare Los Angeles Outing

Actress Susan Clark, 83, was recently spotted in Los Angeles, marking a rare public appearance for the acclaimed performer. Clark, who broke out in the 1960s with roles alongside Hollywood icons such as Clint Eastwood, Henry Fonda, and Burt Reynolds, has largely stepped away from the spotlight in recent decades.

Born Nora Golding in Toronto, Canada, Clark began her performing career on stage before moving to London to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. She made her television debut in the UK and later returned to Canada, eventually securing a contract with Universal Pictures in 1967.

Her early film career included roles in "Coogan's Bluff" (1968), where she played the romantic lead opposite Clint Eastwood, and "Madigan" (1968) with Henry Fonda. Throughout the 1970s, she starred in films like "Airport 1975" and "The Apple Dumpling Gang," solidifying her status as a box office draw. She also received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Babe Didrikson Zaharias in the 1975 TV movie "Babe" and another for playing Amelia Earhart in a 1976 television film.

Clark transitioned her focus to television in the early 1980s. Her most recognized role came as Katherine Calder-Young Papadopoulos in the hit sitcom "Webster," which aired from 1983 to 1989. In a notable turn, her real-life husband, former NFL player and actor Alex Karras, costarred as her on-screen husband. The couple, who married in 1980, met on the set of "Babe."

After "Webster" concluded, Clark continued with occasional television roles throughout the 1990s, including a main cast role in the Canadian series "Emily of New Moon." She also continued to perform on stage into the 2000s. Karras passed away in 2012 at the age of 77.
