Suri Cruise, the 20-year-old daughter of actors Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, is set to make her acting debut in a contemporary adaptation of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Titled "Midsummer!," the production will feature Cruise as part of her musical theater studies at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The 90-minute play will be performed for classmates and a limited audience at the Trust Arts Education Center's Peirce Studio in Pittsburgh on July 31 and August 1. Following its Pittsburgh run, "Midsummer!" is scheduled for a UK tour at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from August 7 to August 31, 2026.
This role follows Cruise's recent participation in "Cosmic Microwave Background," a staged reading presented in March at the New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh. During her high school graduation, she reportedly used the surname Noelle, a tribute to her mother, Katie Noelle Holmes.
Cruise is majoring in musical theater, a path that aligns with her parents' careers. Her mother, Katie Holmes, has expressed her support for Suri's artistic endeavors, having previously featured Suri's vocals in her 2022 film "Alone Together." Holmes has stated her desire to nurture Suri into an independent and confident individual.
Suri Cruise is the daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who divorced in August 2012. She has lived with her mother since the divorce. Tom Cruise is reportedly covering Suri's annual university tuition of $65,000, fulfilling his financial obligations, according to sources. The "Mission: Impossible" star and his daughter have been estranged for over a decade.
