The cult comedy franchise "Super Troopers" is set to continue with its third installment, "Super Troopers 3," premiering in theaters nationwide on Friday, August 7. The film reunites the original cast, including Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske, who reprise their roles as the bumbling Vermont state troopers.

"Super Troopers 3" serves as a direct sequel to 2018's "Super Troopers 2" and follows the original 2001 film. In the new movie, Trooper Rodney “Rod” Farva, portrayed by Heffernan, is set to marry the sister of Trooper Arcot “Thorny” Ramathorn, played by Chandrasekhar. This development sparks a plan by Thorny to break up the relationship, while the troopers simultaneously investigate a new drug ring operating in their town.

While the film is designed for a theatrical experience, fans looking to watch "Super Troopers 3" at home will need to wait. The movie is not currently available on streaming services such as Netflix or Amazon Prime Video. As a Searchlight Pictures release, a studio owned by Disney, its streaming home is expected to be Hulu, a platform also owned by Disney, rather than Disney+ due to the film's R rating.

Fans may eventually be able to purchase or rent "Super Troopers 3" on digital platforms, with a potential release around mid-October 2026. A streaming debut on Hulu is anticipated around mid-November 2026, following a release pattern similar to other Searchlight Pictures films. For instance, "Ready or Not 2" became available for digital purchase about two and a half months after its theatrical debut and began streaming on Hulu approximately three and a half months later.

This timeline is speculative. For immediate viewing, "Super Troopers 3" will be exclusively in theaters starting August 7. The first two "Super Troopers" films are currently available for streaming on Hulu.
