Sunrise Weatherman Sam Mac Responds to 'Hospital Blanket Theft' Accusations With Humorous Video

Sunrise weatherman Sam Mac has shared a humorous video in response to accusations that he 'stole' a hospital blanket for his newborn son. The clip shows Mac playfully disguising himself and hiding after hospital staff joked in the comments of a previous post that he had taken the blanket.

In the initial video, Mac was seen walking his baby son Miles in a stroller, which was covered by a distinct hospital blanket. Several individuals identified as hospital employees commented, humorously pointing out the blanket. "As a midwife all I saw in the video was the hospital blanket you stole LMAO," one user wrote, with another adding, "Another midwife here. They stick out in the wild."

Mac's lighthearted response featured him expressing mock alarm, exclaiming "S**t!" before donning sunglasses and a baseball cap. He then pretended to hide in bushes, joking about being a "thief" and needing to "lie low for a little while." In the caption, he further jested, "We genuinely had no idea and somehow we have four! But only three children. Do we covertly return them in the dark of night? Surely it's not just us."

Friends of Mac, including Simone Holtznagel, Steph Claire Smith, and Melissa Hoyer, joined in the playful exchange. Holtznagel shared her own experience, saying she was told she could take a blanket "as long as you’ve paid your taxes," prompting her to take two. Smith mentioned that her mother still had her own baby blanket, leading her to believe they were keepsakes.

Mac and his fiancée Rebecca James welcomed their third child, Miles Samuel McMillan, in July. The Channel Seven presenter announced the birth on Instagram, sharing a photo of the couple with their new son. Mac praised his fiancée, stating she was an "absolute superstar" and recovering well.

The couple had previously announced their pregnancy earlier in the year with a series of images featuring his partner and their two daughters, Margot and Mabel. The images showed Rebecca James revealing her baby bump, which Mac kissed while holding sonogram pictures.
