Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban Addresses 'Nepo Baby' Label in Vogue Germany Debut
Nicole Kidman's daughter, Sunday Rose, discusses the advantages and her approach to opportunities in a candid interview.
Sunday Rose Kidman-Urban, the 18-year-old daughter of actors Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, has spoken about being labeled a "nepo baby" as she makes her cover debut for Vogue Germany. In the interview, she acknowledged the opportunities afforded to her due to her famous parents and expressed her gratitude.
"I’m very aware that I’m given opportunities that not everyone can have, and I’m truly grateful to be able to take advantage of them," Sunday Rose stated. She outlined her professional ethos, saying, "When I’m at work, I make sure to always give my best, never come to work with a negative attitude, no matter how tired or jet-lagged I may be, and treat everyone with respect."
The high school student, who also has a 15-year-old sister named Faith Margaret, has previously appeared in a small role in the series Big Little Lies in 2019 and attended her first Met Gala at age 17. She made her runway modeling debut at Paris Fashion Week in October 2024 for the Miu Miu show, which drew online criticism.
Kidman, who was a co-chair for the Met Gala, attended the event with Sunday Rose, who wore Dior. The public appearance followed reports that Sunday Rose had unfollowed her father on Instagram. There had been speculation about Urban's relationship with country singer Karley Scott Collins, 26, which reportedly caused tension with his daughters.
According to celebrity reporter Rob Shuter, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret were allegedly refusing to meet Urban's new girlfriend out of loyalty to Kidman. A family friend told Shuter that "The girls are really focused on mum right now" and are adjusting to the changes.
Kidman and Urban finalized their divorce in January, having separated in the summer of 2023 after 19 years of marriage. Court documents indicated that both parties waived rights to child support and alimony. The parenting plan grants Kidman custody for 306 days a year, with Urban receiving the children for 59 days annually, including every other weekend.
Kidman herself faced criticism early in her career, and a source close to the actress told the Daily Mail that Kidman was upset by the comments directed at her daughter. The source noted that Kidman understands the criticism, recalling her own experiences breaking into the industry without parental connections, but it also brings up difficult memories.
"Ultimately, Nicole and Keith are so proud of her and they are letting her forge her own path," the insider stated. Kidman's advice to her daughter, and herself, is to avoid reading social media and to support her choices regardless of the path she chooses.
