Suki Waterhouse Denies Secret Marriage to Robert Pattinson, Plans 'Massive' Wedding
The singer and actress clarifies marriage rumors and discusses relationship milestones, future home plans, and balancing careers.
Suki Waterhouse has denied reports that she and actor Robert Pattinson have secretly married, stating that the couple plans to hold a "massive" wedding party at some point.
The model turned singer, 34, has been in a relationship with Pattinson, 40, for nearly a decade, with the couple meeting at a Los Angeles house party in 2018. They are parents to a two-year-old daughter and have been engaged for close to three years.
Waterhouse reflected on their relationship, describing it as "beautiful." She explained that wedding plans are currently on hold for a few months as both she and Pattinson focus on their respective careers. She indicated that if they do marry, it will not be an intimate ceremony, stating, "It would either be all or nothing. If we were going to go for it we'd have a massive party, blow it out."
The couple's immediate priority is establishing a permanent home, having spent the first two years of their daughter's life moving between rental properties and hotels. They have been managing Waterhouse's singing career alongside Pattinson's extensive film commitments. Their daughter has recently accompanied her mother on her US tour, with Waterhouse's mother providing babysitting assistance.
"It's quite hard to make something work where you're both doing these kinds of jobs, when you don't live in one place and you're travelling a lot," Waterhouse told The Sunday Times Style Magazine. She credited the effort both she and Pattinson have invested in their relationship, noting, "It is almost a decade [of their relationship] and that is a beautiful thing. It's a thing that I go, I can't believe that I have this in my life and I can't believe that I'm so happy."
Waterhouse, who was previously in a two-year relationship with Bradley Cooper, added that she was surprised by the longevity of her current relationship, having previously found relationships lasting two years to be difficult.
The couple plans to settle in West London next year, where they have applied for a primary school place for their daughter. Waterhouse had previously revealed in July that they intended to raise their daughter in London, near where she grew up in Chiswick. Pattinson was raised in Barnes.
"I'm aware that the season of life I'm in right now is fleeting," Waterhouse said, referencing the ability to move frequently with a young child. "But I look towards the future, knowing this moment's fleeting, and think I'll go back and live by the River Thames."
Rumors about their marital status intensified earlier this year when Sharon Stone referred to Pattinson as Waterhouse's "husband" at the American Heart Association Red Dress Collection Concert. Pattinson himself had previously hinted at a potential secret marriage while promoting the film "The Drama" alongside co-star Zendaya, when asked about the biggest secret they had ever kept. He responded, "It's the same one that you have." Zendaya, who had also faced marriage speculation with partner Tom Holland, stated "Nothing that comes to mind" at the time, though Holland and Zendaya have since confirmed their marriage.
