Students Surprise Principal with Birthday Prank

Students at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School in Georgia orchestrated a surprise for their principal, Bobby Davis, on his birthday by staging a fake fight. As Principal Davis rushed to break up the commotion, he was met with a crowd of faculty and students singing "Happy Birthday."

The prank, captured in a viral video that garnered over 5.7 million views on Facebook, shows Davis entering a room where students are pretending to fight. Upon realizing it's a ruse, he embraces the students, who then lift him as the school community sings to him. One of the students, De’Zayviun Watkins, who conceived the idea, shared his gratitude for Davis's positive impact on his life and expressed happiness at being able to organize the surprise.

This marks Davis's first year as principal at LFO. His connection to the school is deep, having graduated from there in 1994. He previously taught English and coached at the school before returning in 2023 as assistant principal.

The heartwarming video received an outpouring of positive reactions online, with many praising Davis's dedication to his students. Commenters described him as a "great dude" and noted how much he is "loved by those students." Strangers also expressed their admiration, calling him a "legend" and highlighting the significant impact educators like him have on young lives. Many viewers reported being moved to tears by the display of affection between the principal and his students.
