Students Stage Fake Fight to Surprise Principal with Birthday Celebration
Principal Bobby Davis of Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School rushed to break up a staged altercation, only to be met with a 'Happy Birthday' serenade.
Students at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School (LFO) in Georgia orchestrated a surprise for their principal, Bobby Davis, by staging a fight that led to an impromptu birthday celebration.
On Thursday, Principal Davis was alerted to a disturbance and was seen sprinting through the school hallways to intervene. Upon arriving at the scene, he quickly moved to separate the students involved in the apparent altercation. However, he soon realized the conflict was a staged prank intended to honor him.
As the principal looked on, confused, students revealed the ruse, and the gathered crowd began singing "Happy Birthday." Davis was then lifted by students as they sang the celebratory song. He appeared delighted, smiling broadly and acknowledging the surprise by saying, "Y'all got me! Y'all got me!"
De'Zayviun Watkins, the student credited with conceiving the idea, shared on Facebook that Davis has made a significant positive impact during his time at LFO. "The things he’s done during my time at LFO are truly memories I’d die with. I was so happy to come up with this idea and do it for him," Watkins wrote.
Davis, who has served as principal for one year, received widespread praise on social media for his dedication. Online commenters lauded him as a "legend" and a "warrior" for his influence on students.
