The University of Texas at San Antonio student who recited a poem about the death of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk and suggested activists should wear neck braces has been identified as Isabela Casahuga Lemgruber, 19. Lemgruber attended St. Agnes Academy, a Roman Catholic all-girls preparatory school in Houston, which costs $28,400 per year. Her parents' professional online profiles have been removed from the internet.

Lemgruber reportedly made the comments during an event hosted by political commentator Christian Collins at UTSA on September 23. According to a video shared by Collins, Lemgruber introduced herself as "pamper baby" before reciting a poem that mimicked "'Twas the Night Before Christmas," referencing Kirk's death by a gunshot to the neck in September 2025.

"The flags were hung proudly, the memes all on deck as we solemnly remembered a shot to the neck," Lemgruber read from her phone. She then addressed Collins, stating, "You're brave for being out here, I mean, no protection, no nothing, no, like, neck brace." When Collins asked if she was happy with herself, Lemgruber responded, "Baby, I'm thrilled."

Lemgruber, described as an immigrant during her comments, is the daughter of Paula Casahuga, a realtor in Houston, and Guillem Casahuga, a partner at international management consulting firm Arthur Little. Paula Casahuga's LinkedIn profile, which stated she was born in Brazil and had moved across five countries with her family, was deactivated. Guillem Casahuga's LinkedIn page has also been deactivated. The family resides in a $1.6 million home in Houston.

UTSA released a statement acknowledging the incident and confirming it is taking the matter seriously. "The sentiments expressed do not reflect the values of our university. The university is reviewing the circumstances through its established student conduct processes," a spokesperson said. The UT System Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife and UT System Chancellor John Zerwas also condemned the incident, stating, "We will not tolerate the incitement of violence or the threat of incitement of violence by any member of our UT community."

Charlie Kirk, 31, was fatally shot while speaking at a public event at Utah Valley University. His death, which was captured on video, has been followed by controversy and hateful rhetoric.
