Strictly Star Will Best Welcomes Baby Boy With Fiancée Tobi
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' presenter announced the birth of their son, Sonny Best, on Instagram.
Will Best, a star of the BBC's 'Strictly Come Dancing,' has announced the arrival of his first child with fiancée Tobi. The presenter shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, posting a series of hospital photos of their newborn son, Sonny Best.
"Well who do we have here then?! Welcome to the world Sonny Best, you little smasher," Best wrote on Instagram. "@tobiroseofficial you’re a miracle and I love you so much. A couple of tired new parents but oh my goodness aren’t we lucky xxx."
In a video accompanying the announcement, Best humorously described his new arrival, saying, "I got this really cool new thing today, lots of people get them, but they are pretty cool," before panning the camera to show the baby.
The couple, who became engaged in July 2024, have expressed their joy and exhaustion at becoming new parents. Their announcement was met with congratulations from fellow celebrities. Dianne Buswell, Best's dance partner on 'Strictly,' commented, "Yay I’m so happy for you and Tobie and Bowie is so excited to meet little Sonny." Fleur East added, "Awww yay!!! Welcome Sonny Best! So excited for you! Congratulations to you and Tobi. Hope you’re all doing well. Go and smash it on that ballroom floor for your little family!" Strictly judge Oti Mabuse and Zoe Ball also sent their congratulations.
Best became a father while actively participating in the current season of 'Strictly Come Dancing,' preparing for the show's upcoming Icons Week.
He had previously kept the pregnancy announcement low-key, sharing a photo of Tobi with her baby bump on Instagram the previous month. The post included a picture of Tobi helping Best with his suit, with his hand resting on her bump, and another snap of baby shoes.
Best and Tobi, a stylist, have been together for over a decade. Best proposed during a romantic holiday in Tuscany, Italy.
Before his 'Strictly' role, Best had a varied television career. He began on music channel Viva, hosting shows like 'Suck My Pop.' He was also a presenter on Channel 4's 'T4' between 2011 and 2012, and later hosted 'Dance Dance Dance' on ITV in 2017. He also served as a regular contributor to 'Big Brother's Bit On The Side' and co-hosted the revival of 'Big Brother' with AJ Odudu in 2023.
