Strictly It Takes Two Host Ellie Taylor Hospitalized for Hand Injury
The presenter shared her ordeal on Instagram, revealing a last-minute dash to the hospital before going live on air.
Strictly It Takes Two host Ellie Taylor revealed on Monday that she was rushed to the hospital with a hand injury just hours before her live television appearance.
Taylor, 42, shared details of her hospital visit on Instagram Stories, posting a photo of her left thumb wrapped in a brace. She informed fans that while her thumb was not broken, it was significantly strained. "Thumbs up to it not being broken just a strain!" she wrote, later joking about needing the Strictly wardrobe department to "jazz up" her bandage with glue and rhinestones.
The presenter explained that she had to make a swift journey from the hospital to the Strictly studios to make it in time for the 6:30 p.m. episode of It Takes Two. "Also big thumbs up (It's all I've got) to Nurse Wendy who got me out in time to make my car to the studio," she added.
Taylor was announced as the new host of It Takes Two earlier this year, following a shake-up that saw Janette Manrara and Fleur East depart the nightly spin-off show.
Meanwhile, viewers have had mixed reactions to the main show's new hosting trio. Amid criticism during the first two weeks of the 2026 series, fans expressed delight at the surprise return of former Strictly professional Nadiya Bychkova to It Takes Two last Friday. Bychkova, who was dropped from the professional dancer lineup in March, appeared as a celebrity guest panelist alongside Kimberley Walsh and Jay McGuinness to discuss the show's contestants.
Fans took to social media platform X to share their positive reactions to Bychkova's appearance, with some lamenting her earlier departure from the professional lineup and expressing hope for her continued presence on the show.
