Strictly Host Josh Widdicombe Complains About Budget Hotel Room

Strictly host Josh Widdicombe has voiced his dissatisfaction with his hotel accommodation, describing it as a "budget ground floor room" that overlooks a car park. Widdicombe shared his complaints via Instagram, stating that he feels "incredibly stressed" and has to keep his curtains closed all day due to the lack of privacy.

It remains unclear if Widdicombe is staying in the room ahead of rehearsals, as he resides in Exeter and commutes to London weekly for his role on the BBC show. "A brief update on my brilliant life. Ground floor hotel room. It's just incredibly stressful, who's this [driving past] I could have been nude. I've got to have a shower in a minute," Widdicombe said in a video shared on Friday. He added, "I basically have to have the curtains closed at all times, like I'm recovering from a breakup and lying in bed. I just don't want to be nude in front of other people. Is that too much to ask? This is no life."

Widdicombe, who is hosting alongside Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe, has faced scrutiny since taking over the hosting duties from Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. While viewers are reportedly warming to his presenting style, some fans have expressed frustration with the show's producers for not altering the hosting format. Social media commentary indicated disappointment that the trio's positions—with Widdicombe and Willis often on the floor and Radebe in the "Clauditorium"—had not been varied despite previous feedback.

Despite the commentary on his hotel situation and hosting role, former professional dancer Johannes Radebe has been widely praised by fans for improved presenting skills. The current series of Strictly Come Dancing is progressing, with celebrities competing in themed weeks. In week two, themed as Movie Week, the combined scores from the first two weeks saw Australian singer Delta Goodrem and her partner Kai Widdrington at the top of the leaderboard with 59 points.
