Street Outlaws: Fastest in America alum Christopher 'Block' Gordon, 55, died Saturday in a "devastating accident on the track" while competing at KD Motorsports Park in South Webster, Ohio. The Scioto County Sheriff's Office confirmed Gordon was transported to Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth after 8 p.m. where he was pronounced dead.
KD Motorsports Park stated on Facebook that their staff, along with trained medical personnel and bystanders, were immediately on the scene and "exhausted all of their efforts at the time of the accident." Gordon, owner of Block Motorsports, had promoted the race earlier that day, posting on Facebook, "Let's get busy!"
Gordon is survived by his fiancée of two years, Amanda Laport Grasty, who described herself as "lost" and "shattered" by his death. "We did EVERYTHING together, from the time we woke up in the morning until he kissed my forehead good night EVERY NIGHT," Grasty wrote on Facebook. "We were a TEAM and now I've lost my MVP. There is no "I" in "team" so now I don't know how "I" am supposed to move continue."
A GoFundMe page established by Jessica Litchfield has raised over $3,700 towards a $50,000 goal to assist with medical bills and funeral expenses.
Audiences became familiar with Gordon through the reality television show Street Outlaws: Fastest in America, where he led one of eight teams of street racers competing for a $100,000 prize. The show aired on Discovery in 2020-2021. The Summerville High School graduate was known on the show as the 'South Carolina Street King.'
