Daniel Moraff, a political strategist who co-led the recruitment of former Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, was reportedly barred from campaign events and from speaking to staffers after multiple women filed sexual harassment complaints against him during a previous congressional campaign.

Moraff, 31, Yale Law-educated and grandson of a Toys "R" Us founder, worked on the 2022 campaign for Rep. Summer Lee in Pennsylvania. According to a report by Payday Report, multiple complaints were lodged against Moraff for alleged sexual aggression toward volunteers and activists.

"Birds of a feather flock together and Moraff and Platner were predators," one of the unnamed women who claims she was sexually harassed by Moraff during Lee's campaign told Payday Report. "He doesn’t have boundaries with women, nor much of an ethical code."

Moraff has denied the allegations, with a spokesperson stating, "Daniel never committed any acts of sexual misconduct. If anyone has evidence of criminal conduct, they know exactly where to take it — a police station." The spokesperson added, "Winning in politics creates enemies. Daniel has always understood that."

Platner, who dropped out of the Maine Senate race after a woman accused him of rape, was recruited by Moraff and his fiancée, Leanne Fan. The couple admitted in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that their vetting process for Platner was not thorough. Platner's other reported scandals include a Nazi tattoo on his chest.

Moraff had previously recruited Lee for state politics in Pittsburgh. After he was reportedly removed from the Lee campaign due to the sexual misconduct allegations, he struggled as a political consultant before focusing on recruiting unconventional candidates.

Moraff and Fan reportedly became interested in Platner after seeing a video of him in the summer of 2025 and quickly moved to recruit him for a U.S. Senate run in Maine.
