Sting's Son Steven Borden Injured During AEW Debut Match

Steven Borden, the son of wrestling icon Sting, was injured during his debut match at AEW All Out in Chicago on Saturday night. The incident occurred during a tag team match where Borden and his partner Kevin Knight were executing a dual coast-to-coast maneuver.

Borden landed awkwardly on his head, appearing to be knocked unconscious from the impact. The match was immediately stopped by AEW medical personnel. Knight and his tag team partner Kyle Fletcher were subsequently awarded the win and the No. 1 contendership for the World Tag Team championship.

During the broadcast, announcer Tony Schiavone provided an update from AEW president Tony Khan, stating that Borden had arrived at the hospital. "Steven Borden did arrive at the hospital. He is conscious. He is responsive," Schiavone reported. "He’s been talking to doctors about the match and of course our thoughts are with him. He has had a CAT scan. But the good news is he’s responsive, he’s conscious, he’s talking about the match he’s in tune about what happened."

Commentary suggested a potential miscommunication between Borden and Knight may have contributed to the sequence of events leading to the injury. Knight's hand appeared to clip Borden's head on the way down.

Borden, 34, began training in early 2024 with Darby Allin. His father, Sting, retired from wrestling earlier this year. Steven Borden was part of his father's entrance for his final match. He made his professional wrestling debut in October 2025 and had his first televised AEW match earlier this month, bringing his total number of matches to 35 prior to Saturday's event.
