Steven R. McQueen Returns to Instagram After 5-Year Break
The "Vampire Diaries" actor marked his return with a gym selfie and a call for music suggestions.
Steven R. McQueen, known for his role as Jeremy Gilbert in "The Vampire Diaries," has reactivated his Instagram account after a nearly five-year absence. The 38-year-old actor posted a picture of himself on the platform, indicating his return to the gym and seeking music recommendations from his followers.
McQueen's last post on the platform was on December 27, 2022, marking a significant hiatus from social media. His return has generated excitement among fans, with many expressing their joy in the comments. "The Vampire Diaries" co-star Matthew Davis welcomed him back with a simple "Love ya dude!," while Taylor Lautner commented, "My man! Let’s go! ♥️♥️♥️."
Fans also celebrated the return of "Jeremy Gilbert," a reference to his character on the popular CW series. McQueen starred as the younger brother of Elena Gilbert, played by Nina Dobrev, for six seasons from 2009 to 2015. He later reprised his role as a guest star in the show's final season in 2017.
McQueen's return to social media follows his first major public appearance in years at the Forever Mystic Falls Fan Meet on October 3 and 4. Prior to this event, his last notable public appearance was at Thirst Project’s 10th Annual Thirst Gala in 2019. He had largely withdrawn from the public eye since then, though he did appear in the 2020 western action film "The Warrant."
At the fan event, McQueen reunited with several "Vampire Diaries" castmates, including Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder, Kat Graham, and Riley Voelkel. Photos from the event circulated on social media, further fueling fan anticipation.
McQueen is slated to attend additional fan events internationally in the coming months, and fans have expressed eagerness to see him at these upcoming gatherings.
