Steve McBee Sr., patriarch of the "McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys" reality television series, is scheduled for an early release from federal prison on September 11. His son, Steven McBee Jr., confirmed the date, stating that McBee Sr. will be home for the holidays.

McBee Sr. is currently serving a two-year sentence at FPC Yankton in South Dakota for one count of crop insurance fraud. He pleaded guilty to the charge in 2024 and was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison in October 2025. He was also ordered to pay over $4 million in restitution and self-surrendered to authorities on December 1, 2025. When released in September, he will have served less than one year of his sentence.

Before beginning his prison term, McBee Sr. indicated he was meeting with pardon attorneys. He also reportedly received advice from Todd Chrisley, a reality television personality who was granted an early release from prison in May 2025 after being convicted of fraud and tax evasion. Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were released on full pardons.

While McBee Sr. has not been a full-time cast member on "The McBee Dynasty" since his legal issues began, his son revealed that he has been keeping up with the show's third season from prison. "He's actually watching the show, which is hilarious," Steven McBee Jr. told Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea." McBee Jr. also commented on his father's ongoing relationship with Masha Petrova, noting the complexities and potential for confusion surrounding his father's relationships.

"The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo, with new episodes available to stream the following day on Peacock.
