Steve Kerr Reacts to Spotting Lookalike at Warriors Game
Golden State coach does a double-take when his doppelgänger appears in the stands during a preseason matchup.
Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr appeared surprised when he spotted a man resembling him in the stands during a preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday in Las Vegas.
A viral video shared on X captured Kerr turning around and staring towards the section where his lookalike was seated, a few rows behind the Warriors' bench.
Fans on social media reacted to the striking resemblance, with one user humorously questioning if Kerr was making his way to a floor seat with a beer. Another user joked that Kerr might have thought, "What am I doing in the audience?!"
The individual, identified as Steve Gillis, previously gained attention two years ago at a Warriors home game. Gillis, an English teacher at Bishop Gorman High School and co-founder of the Summerlin Volleyball Academy, has been described as an uncanny double of the NBA coach.
During that earlier game, Kerr acknowledged his lookalike, and Gillis recalled the moment, saying the coach was gracious. Tennis legend Roger Federer also encountered Gillis at a game, posing for selfies with him and remarking on the resemblance.
Kerr, who has coached the Warriors for over a decade, has led the team to four NBA championships. He also won five championships as a player and holds the NBA record for the highest three-point shooting percentage.
