Steve Hilton Films Street Fight Amidst LA Chaos
Gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton captured a video of a man fighting a security guard, using the incident to highlight his campaign's focus on public safety and change in California.
Republican gubernatorial hopeful Steve Hilton documented a street altercation in Los Angeles, posting a video of a shirtless man fighting a security guard on October 24. Hilton, who was filming in what he described as "fentanyl alley," used the incident to advocate for change in California, stating, "No city should have this kind of chaos. We got to have a change in California."
The former Fox News host shared the video on his X account, calling it an example of the "chaos everywhere" in the city. Hilton has previously pledged to clear all homeless encampments in the state by the end of 2027.
He outlined a plan to meet with mayors and county leaders in his first month as governor to establish deadlines for clearing encampments, aiming for a Labor Day 2027 deadline for local leaders and a final state-wide deadline of December 31, 2027.
In addition to his focus on public order, Hilton recently unveiled an AI-generated campaign ad showcasing his vision for California, which included a transformed Skid Row and bustling Third Street Promenade, alongside lower gas prices and a functional bullet train project.
His campaign platform includes making the first $150,000 of income tax-free, reducing electricity bills by half, lowering gas prices to $3 a gallon, and abolishing the California Department of Motor Vehicles. He has also called for the suspension of California's carbon market.
Hilton is running against Democratic candidate Xavier Becerra in the election for governor, succeeding Gov. Gavin Newsom.
