Steffie Waters Edits Instagram, Removing Fiancé Isaac Heeney Amid Swans Scandal
The fiancée of Sydney Swans player Isaac Heeney has significantly altered her public Instagram presence, removing numerous photos of the couple amid an ongoing investigation into a hotel gathering.
Steffie Waters, fiancée of Sydney Swans player Isaac Heeney, has made extensive edits to her Instagram account, removing public-facing photos of Heeney from her profile. The changes occurred on Tuesday, following the fallout from allegations of sexual assault linked to a gathering involving several Swans players last month.
Waters has reportedly buried images of Heeney, 30, within photo carousels and deleted others, effectively purging her main feed of his presence. While some photos remain in carousels, the most prominent displays of the couple have been removed. Previously, her account featured numerous pictures documenting their life together.
This social media revision follows Waters' deletion of her engagement photo with Heeney from her account. The image, posted in October of the previous year, showed the couple announcing their engagement, with Waters displaying a diamond ring. The removal of this post has raised questions about the status of their upcoming wedding.
Heeney and four other Sydney Swans players, Chad Warner, Riley Bice, Nick Blakey, and James Jordon, were stood down for the remainder of the 2026 AFL season. The club stated that the players breached its standards by staying out late, consuming alcohol, and bringing women back to the Pullman East Melbourne hotel in the early hours of August 17. Reports indicate that adult entertainers were present at the hotel, and Victoria Police are investigating allegations of indecent assault said to have occurred within one of the rooms.
Earlier in the month, it was reported that police were preparing to interview the five players as their investigation progressed. Heeney himself has deleted his Instagram account entirely.
Previously, Waters was photographed in tears without her engagement ring while in Noosa, which had fueled speculation about a relationship split. However, a relative reportedly stated that the couple remained together and had not ended their engagement. The relative also explained that the ring was missing because it had been sent for repairs after the stone fell out.
Three women have come forward with allegations of sexual assault stemming from the hotel incident and have secured legal representation, with potential civil action also reportedly being considered. The players have denied any criminal wrongdoing. Prominent Melbourne criminal lawyer Tony Hargreaves is representing the players involved.
