Steffie Waters Continues US Trip Amid Split from AFL Star Isaac Heeney
Heeney's estranged fiancée Steffie Waters has been documenting her journey through Texas, Indiana, and New York following their breakup.
Steffie Waters, the estranged fiancée of Sydney Swans star Isaac Heeney, is continuing her trip across the United States following the couple's breakup. Waters has been sharing updates from her travels through Texas, Indiana, and New York on social media.
She recently posted photos from Texas and Indiana, including visits to local bars, a bull-riding competition, and an Indiana University football game. Alongside her friend Miranda Rack, Waters embraced an American cowboy aesthetic in denim shorts and boots while in Texas. Her journey also included exploring Manhattan's Soho neighborhood.
The trip comes after reports that Waters called off her engagement with Heeney in the wake of an AFL hotel scandal involving the Sydney Swans. Heeney, along with several teammates, was suspended by the club for attending a party with strippers. While no charges were laid in relation to the incident, three dancers later made police complaints alleging sexual assault.
Sources close to Waters have indicated that she viewed Heeney's involvement in the party as a betrayal and infidelity, which led to the end of their engagement. She had reportedly been unable to forgive this perceived breach of trust.
Prior to the recent US trip, Waters had reportedly fled their home and stayed in Noosa to avoid media attention surrounding the scandal. Heeney is said to have attempted to reconcile, but friends reported that Waters was ultimately unable to move past the situation.
Waters and Heeney had been together for several years and became engaged in French Polynesia last October. Their relationship was often portrayed as a high-profile partnership within the AFL community. In the weeks following the scandal, Waters reportedly began deleting photos of herself with Heeney from social media, including their engagement post, signaling a step towards moving on.
