Funerals for Dior executive Mathilde Favier and her film producer partner Nicolas Altmayer were held separately in Paris on Monday, two weeks after their deaths in a car crash. The services drew a notable gathering of models, fashion icons, and industry figures.
Among those who attended Favier's funeral were France's First Lady Brigitte Macron, Pierre Casiraghi, son of Princess Caroline of Monaco, model Claudia Schiffer, actress Laura Smet, French movie star Ana Girardot, actress Farida Khelfa, former European Parliament member Rachida Dati, designer Jeanne Damas, actress Catherine Deneuve, and actress Sandrine Kiberlain. Also present were Sidney Toledano, former CEO of Christian Dior, and current Louis Vuitton CEO Pietro Beccari.
Altmayers funeral, held at Saint Germain des Pres church, was attended by actor Jean Dujardin and comedian Gad Elmaleh.
Favier, 57, and Altmayer, 61, died on August 17 when their vehicle collided with a heavy goods vehicle while attempting to overtake another car in Western France. Favier's casket was seen being carried out of the Catholic Church Église Saint-Sulpice. Attendees at Altmayer's service were observed in somber and emotional scenes outside the church.
Dior released a statement mourning Favier, who served as Director of Public Relations, calling her an "exceptional woman" who made "an incredible contribution to the reputation of Christian Dior Couture." Dior CEO Delphine Arnault described Favier as a "loyal friend" and praised her "optimism and courage."
Altmayer was a producer who had worked on over 80 films. Favier had been with Dior for over 13 years and previously worked at Glamour magazine and Prada. She had two children from her first marriage to Robert Agostinelli, and later married Antoine Meyer before her relationship with Altmayer.
